Build and create

Side-pane apps

Apps that open in a pane beside the chat, including a browser, Office, 3D Lab, maps, live cameras, AI Studio, a terminal, music, memory and notes. Nova can open and operate them while you watch.

The right pane shows one app at a time, next to your conversation, so you can watch Nova work or work alongside it. Two buttons next to the clock open it:

  • Toggle Widgets (four squares) opens the app you used last. The first time, that is the Browser.
  • Toggle Live Desktop (a monitor) shows the cloud computer instead.
Office in the right pane, next to the chat. The strip of chips at the bottom switches between apps.

The pane

  • Switch apps with the chips at the bottom: Browser, Office, 3D Lab, IPTV Player, GeoSpy, CCTV Station, AI Studio, Coding Lab, Terminal, Music Player, Memory, Agency, Social and Synapse.
  • Resize by dragging the pane's left edge. It can be as narrow as 380 pixels or as wide as most of the window, and it remembers the width.
  • Terminal, Music Player and Coding Lab keep running when you switch to another chip, so music keeps playing and terminal sessions survive. The other apps start fresh when you return to them.
  • Closing the pane: press the same toggle button again. The pane also closes while you chat with a team.
  • On a phone or tablet the pane header adds Toggle fullscreen and Close.

Each app also opens as a window in the Workspace, where several can run side by side.

Browser

A real web browser runs on your instance and streams into the pane. Nova browses in it while you watch, and you can take over at any moment. Your mouse, keyboard and touch go straight to the page, including hover, drag and right-click.

  • Tabs and navigation: + opens a new tab. There are tabs, Back, Forward and Reload, an address bar with Go, and Open in browser tab to open the page in your own browser.
  • Zoom: zoom out, reset to 100% and zoom in. Ctrl + mouse wheel also zooms.
  • Point Nova at an element: the number button marks every element on the page with a number. Click a numbered element to put a reference to it in the chat box, or Shift + click to send it straight away. This is the quickest way to say "click this one".
  • Sign-ins: by default the browser starts clean each time, so sign-ins are not kept. An administrator can change Browser Profile Mode in Settings → System to keep a signed-in profile.

When Nova reads or clicks pages it uses its Browser Automation tool, and you see it happen live here. By default it can use up to five tabs per chat.

Office

View, create and edit documents, spreadsheets, presentations and PDFs without leaving the chat.

  • Toolbar: Open, Doc, Sheet, Slides, a status chip, then Save, Close and Refresh.
  • Start screen:
    • The SyntrofAI Office engine card, which says Office engine ready, or shows that it is installing or offline with an Install / retry button.
    • The Start tiles: Open file, Document, Spreadsheet and Slides.
    • Recent files, shown as preview cards.
  • Formats: DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ODT, ODS, ODP, CSV and PDF.
  • PDFs open in a page viewer with previous and next arrows, a page counter such as 5 / 18, and Original, which opens the PDF in a new tab. PDF viewing works even before the editing engine is installed.
  • Recent files has a select mode with All, Clear and Delete. Delete asks first, because it removes the file and its Office history.
  1. The first time, the engine card may say the Office engine is offline. Press Install / retry.
  2. Wait until the status chip reads ready. The engine installs once, in the background. It needs internet access and at least 3 GB of free disk.
  3. Press Doc, Sheet or Slides for a blank file, or Open to upload one from your device.

Nova can open Office, open a recent file or a file by path, create a blank document, spreadsheet or deck, and save or close it. It writes real content into files with its Office Documents tool. If it wants to delete a file, it asks you in the chat first.

3D Lab

Write and run 3D scenes built with Three.js, or preview HTML pages.

  • 3D Projects (left side): New File, New Folder, upload files or a folder, select and delete. Open a text file to edit it, then press Save.
  • Live 3D (the stage):
    • Add a Box, Sphere, Torus, Cone, Cylinder or Plane.
    • Toggle Grid, Wireframe and AutoRotate.
    • Press RUN SCENE / HTML to run the open file.
    • Use fullscreen, zoom, reflow and clear.
    • Controls opens Orbit Controls: Frame Scene, Reset Orbit, the ISO, Front, Top and Right views, and camera sliders.

Nova can create, edit, read, rename and delete project files, run a scene or HTML preview, and check whether it ran. It asks before it renames or deletes anything. 3D Lab is also the one app Nova can take a picture of, to check what the scene looks like. Three.js loads from the internet, so the lab needs a connection.

IPTV Player

Watch live TV channels from public playlists, or from your own stream link or M3U playlist.

  • Browse Playlists: choose a category, a language or a country.
  • Custom URL / M3U: paste a stream or playlist link and press Load. You can also use Import M3U or Clear All.
  • Search channels... filters the Channels list. The player has fullscreen and reload buttons.

Streams come from public lists, so some may be offline or blocked in your region. The last playlist and channel are remembered in this browser. Nova can load a link, search for and play a channel, pause and mute. It asks before clearing a playlist.

GeoSpy

Maps, satellite views and Street View, a photorealistic 3D globe, and a map assistant.

  • Modes: Standard is a flat map. 3D View shows satellite imagery, and clicking the satellite map opens Street View there. Globe is a 3D Earth.
  • Globe layers (the LAYERS panel) include live aircraft, public traffic cameras, upcoming launches, earthquakes from the last 24 hours, and satellites (stations, GPS, Galileo, weather, science, Starlink and more).
  • GeoSpy AI is a side panel where you ask about a place. You can also upload an image.

3D View and Globe need a Google Maps key on your instance. The layers come from public data feeds, so they depend on those feeds being up. Nova can search for a place, fly to it, add or clear markers, switch modes, turn layers on and off, and ask the GeoSpy assistant. It asks before clearing markers.

CCTV Station

A wall of public live camera streams, picked by country and city.

  • Grid layout: SINGLE VIEW, 2 x 2 GRID, 3 x 3 GRID or 4 x 4 GRID.
  • ALLOW PLAYER INTERACTION, and PAUSE ALL CAMERAS or RESUME ALL CAMERAS.
  • FEED MANAGER adds your own feed: country, city or camera, place name, time zone offset, and a YouTube video ID or link. Press SAVE CONFIGURATION to keep it. Custom feeds are saved in this browser.
  • Each tile has country and city pickers and a maximize button. An empty tile shows NO SIGNAL.

The cameras are public live streams. Nova can set a tile's feed, change the grid size and save the setup. It asks before clearing a feed.

AI Studio

Create and edit images, and generate short videos, using Google's Gemini image models and Veo.

  • Create: describe the image you want.
  • Edit: upload one or more images and describe the changes.
  • Video: Text to Video, Reference Images (up to three), Scene Extension and Frame Transition.
  • Aspect Ratio: 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3 or 21:9.
  • Generate and Clear. The Output panel shows the result with Download and Copy.

Nova can fill in the prompt, choose the mode and start a generation. Each generation asks you to confirm in the chat first.

Terminal

A command line on your instance.

  • Tabs Session 1, Session 2 and so on, with + for a new session. Clear and Reset are in the header, and the status shows connecting, then connected.
  • Sessions survive switching to another app in the pane. The last open session cannot be closed.

Nova can open, switch and close sessions, interrupt a running command, clear and reset. It always asks you in the chat before it sends a command or types into the terminal. For its own everyday shell work Nova uses its Code Runner tool, so this terminal stays yours.

Music Player

Search for songs and play them, with likes and listening history.

  • Library: Home, Search, Recently Played and Liked Songs, plus genre tabs and the search box What do you want to play?
  • Player bar: like, shuffle, previous, play or pause, next, repeat, a seek bar and volume.
  • Mini player: the Music Controller button on the right edge of the main screen shows shuffle, previous, play, next and like when you hover over it.

It needs internet access. Nova can search, play a result, pause, skip, set the volume, shuffle and repeat, and open Home or your liked songs.

Memory

A compact view of what the assistant remembers.

  • Totals and health: knowledge, conversations, areas, paths and the last update, plus a breakdown and top areas.
  • Move Knowledge: Export CSV and Import Knowledge.
  • Records: search, filter by area, sort, and open a record to copy it, see its tags, or delete it.

For the full dashboard, see Memory. Nova can open this view, search, export, and delete a memory after you confirm.

Agency and Social

These two chips put full pages into the pane.

  • Agency is the same Agency window you open from the sidebar: office, agents, teams, workflows, scheduler and goals. Nova can open a workflow on its canvas here.
  • Social is the same Social Media page you open from the sidebar. Nova can open its views, search and analyze the feed, and plan changes to your sources. Changes to sources ask first.
The Social feed in the right pane, with posts ranked by Signal and the app chips along the bottom.

Synapse

Notes and knowledge pages, organized in projects.

  • A project rail, page tabs with colored status dots, an Edit and Preview switch, and a rich-text toolbar.
  • Doc pages hold rich text, images, tables and charts. Flow pages hold a node graph.
  • The Synapse AI panel takes a message and can Write to Page.

Notes are stored in this browser, on this device. They do not sync to other devices. Nova can create projects and pages, write into Doc pages, create a note, set a page's status, and rename or move pages to Trash. It asks before deleting a project.
