Goals

Turn an ambition into a dated route that Nova helps you keep. The Briefing shows every goal at a glance; each goal has a page with its route, its next step, its pace and what Nova knows.

A goal is something you want to achieve, with a measurable outcome and a deadline. Nova drafts the route with you in the chat, then helps you carry it out: it schedules the work, hands steps to agents and teams, checks in, and replans when reality drifts. The Goals tab is where you follow all of it.

Goals live in the Agency window on the Goals tab. Open it from Agency in the sidebar.

A goal's page: the destination and the days left at the top, then the route from today to the deadline, one card per stop.

Start a goal

  1. Press New Goal, or open a new chat. A new chat asks what you want to be true a year from now, with example goals to start from.
  2. Tell Nova the outcome you want, how you will measure it, and by when.
  3. Nova asks what it needs to know, then proposes a route in the chat. Press Approve Goal plan or Reject.
  4. The goal appears on the Briefing, and Nova starts on the first step.

You can also type /goal and the goal in the chat. A goal moves through Being shaped, Route proposed and Active, and can be Paused, Needs you, Achieved or Abandoned.

The Briefing

The Goals tab opens on the Briefing: today's date, how many goals are in motion, and what Nova did for them in the last 7 days. Full schedule and Agreement sit at the top.

Under Your goals, each goal has a card:

  • Its title and health: On track, Drifting, Stalled or Not assessed yet. A goal that is not active shows its status instead.
  • The outcome, and the route from the start to the deadline with today marked.
  • Next: the next step and when it is due. Pace: the day of the plan and how many due steps are done. Measure: the latest reading against the target. Deadline: the date and the days left.
  • How long the goal has run, and when Nova last reviewed it.

A goal without a route shows Plan it with Nova, which asks Nova in the current chat to build one. Click a card to open the goal's page. With no goals yet, the Briefing offers Start a goal.

A goal's page

The top row has Briefing to go back, and a chip for each live goal to switch between them. Below it: the destination, the outcome as the headline, how you plan to get there, and a countdown of the days left to the deadline.

The route

Route shows the plan's version, with its status while a new version waits for approval. The line runs from the day you started to the deadline, with Today marked. Below it, one card per stop, labelled Done, Overdue, Next, Ahead, Decision or Destination. The route keeps every decision, the last two done steps, up to three overdue and up to six ahead. Click a stop to open its playbook.

Step playbooks

Each step opens a Tactical playbook: its objective, an execution timeline of sub-steps to tick, what to do before starting, resources, decision rules, risks and responses, a completion contract (when it is done, what evidence counts, and the fallback) and an acceptance checklist. On a dated step you can also:

  • Mark it Blocked with a reason, and Resume it later.
  • Add evidence as a note or a link.
  • Open the full plan in your notes with Open full plan.

The pencil edits the playbook: the step and its schedule, Who handles this? (you, an agent or a team), the objective, the segments and sub-steps, the lists and the completion contract. Save revision saves a new version of the whole plan.

Full schedule

Full schedule puts every dated step on a calendar, by week or by month, for This goal or All goals. A status tells you whether the schedule is ready or has conflicts. Click a step to open its playbook. A goal without dated steps asks Nova to replan it.

Plan changes

When Nova wants to change a route, it proposes the new version in the chat, with Approve Goal plan and Reject. Under Ask me first, Nova waits for your approval of every plan change.

How Nova contacts you

Agreement opens Your operating agreement, with a switch to turn it on or off, in four clauses:

  1. What Nova may do: Ask me first, or Adapt within my boundaries.
  2. When Nova speaks: your goal check-ins.
  3. My boundaries: one rule per line, and Quiet hours, mute and standing approvals.
  4. Which Goals this covers: some goals, or your whole portfolio.

Press Save my agreement. Each save becomes a new revision.

Check-ins

Check-ins decide when Nova reviews progress with you. Adaptive timings are Smart, Milestones, After work and When stuck. Scheduled timings are Daily, Weekly, Twice daily, Monthly, Every N and Once. You can also check in Before every step or After every step. Choose which goals they cover and the channel, WhatsApp or SyntrofAI, then press Activate check-ins. Check-ins also appear in the Scheduler.

Contact boundaries

Quiet hours, mute and standing approvals opens the Operating contract: Mute all contact, Allow urgent escalation (offered while muted), Quiet hours with Add window, and Standing approvals to delegate, replan or escalate without asking.

Good to know

  • A step can be handled by you, an agent or a team. The hand-off and the result show in Nova's log.
  • Office lists your goals in play on its rail, the ones that need you first.
