Social media

Collect posts from the sources you choose, let Signal rate what deserves your attention, and train it in plain words. Social media in SyntrofAI is for reading and research. It does not post for you.

Social media gathers posts from the sources you subscribe to: subreddits, YouTube channels, GitHub repositories, news topics, RSS feeds, and more. An AI filter called Signal rates each post for relevance and learns from what you keep and what you hide. The useful posts can become memories, briefs and drafted actions.

Open it from Social Media in the sidebar's Intelligence group, from the Social Media tab on the right edge of the screen, or by asking Nova to "open social media". It also runs as an app in the side pane and in the Workspace.

The Feed: posts from your sources, ranked by Signal, with buttons to train it on every card.

The left rail switches between Today Brief, Content Feed, Performance and Settings. On a phone the rail becomes a tab bar at the bottom. Press × or Esc to close.

Get started

No sources are set up at first, so the views stay empty until you add one.

  1. Open Settings → Social Feed Sources.
  2. Pick a platform under Choose a platform, press Ideas for ready-made recipes, or type what you want to watch in What should we watch?
  3. Fill in the target, such as a subreddit, a channel, a repository, a feed address or search terms.
  4. Choose how often to check under Every.
  5. Under Signal, press Start and answer a few questions about what matters to you, then Use this.
  6. Press Test Source to preview sample posts, then Add to Feed.

New posts appear in the Feed as each source collects them.

Today

Today: weather, markets, your live agents and the system on the left, and today's AI news and Top Stories on the right.

Today opens with a short brief of what is worth attention, then a dashboard of live panels.

The brief:

  • The header reads Worth attention today. Tune opens your sources, and Refresh reloads the brief.
  • Three counts show the relevant signals, how many source types are active, and how many posts are waiting for a memory decision.
  • Outcome chips group the top posts by what you could do with them: Memory, Research, Act, Competitor, Pain, Content and Opportunity.
  • Click a chip and Signal drafts an action for the top post of that kind, such as a content angle, a sales move, a product insight or a research next step. The draft shows its source, the next step and the text, with Copy action and Close action.

Below the brief:

  • On the left: the weather for your city (click the city to change it, or open See 3-day forecast), Markets for Bitcoin, NVIDIA and Microsoft, your live Agents with their state, System with CPU, memory, disk and uptime, and the Runtime Queue with whether autonomy is on, your goals and today's steps.
  • The news: cards with today's AI headlines and their pictures, found through Bing and Google image search, plus Top Stories and a news spotlight. The ↗ button opens a story, and the last card loads more.
  • Cloud Storage: how much of each disk is used and free.

The brief needs at least one active source and a working AI model.

Feed

Focus and sources

ChipShows
BestThe strongest posts first. A story covered by several sources appears once.
LatestEvery post, newest first.
MemoryPosts waiting for your decision to save them to memory.
HiddenPosts you or Signal hid.

Below, the source rail has None, All, and one chip per source type. Click a chip to show or hide that source. The Feed loads 50 posts at a time; Load more brings the next 50.

Reading a card

Each card shows the source, a Signal score from 1 to 100%, its age, the title, a summary, and a one-line note on why it is relevant. Four buttons train Signal:

ButtonWhat it does
✓ More like thisMarks the post useful. Signal learns to show more like it.
Hide similarHides the post and teaches Signal to hide posts like it.
Bookmark Remember patternSuggests the post for memory. It moves to the Memory chip.
↗ Open original sourceOpens the post where it was published.

Click a card to open the full post: the exact time, tags, Why this showed up, the full text (transcript, article, post or paper), and details such as the author and the score. For memory suggestions, Save memory adds the post to your memory and Dismiss drops it.

Ask Signal

The ✦ button opens Signal, a box where you can ask in plain words, for example "find posts about pricing changes from Reddit". Press Enter to send. The answer appears in the box, and a request to find or filter posts updates the Feed itself.

You can also change your sources by asking, for example "watch Hacker News for AI agents". Signal shows Review source changes with each pending change. Nothing changes until you press Apply.

Performance

Performance: how much useful signal your sources produce, and what it is worth to you.

Performance measures the posts coming in. It does not measure your own posts.

  • Range: 7D, 30D, 3M or YTD, with running totals of signals and estimated value.
  • Tell Signal what success means: describe what counts as useful, for example "value founder pain, hide generic launches, track funding and competitor moves", and send. Signal applies it to your active sources' filters.
  • ROI defaults: your Hour value, the Minutes saved per useful post, and the Memory value of a saved item. Estimated value is your hour value times the time saved, plus memory value times memory candidates. It is an estimate from your numbers, not revenue.
  • Cards: choose which metrics to show, such as Useful signals, Estimated value, Time saved, Active sources, Memory candidates, Signal rate, Hidden noise and Top source. Keep at least two on.
  • Charts and lists: a chart of useful signal over time, Where value comes from by source, Worth opening for the best posts, and What changed.

Figures come from the posts loaded in the Feed. Your card choices, ROI numbers and focus text are saved in this browser.

Settings

Settings has three tabs.

Platform Connections

A card per platform shows whether its setup is found, with a button that opens its credentials. A Feed research card shows the state of the public search the feed uses, with Refresh status. These cards report status; they do not connect accounts.

Social Feed Sources

This tab adds and manages your sources. The top shows how many are active, paused, proposed or failing, with Refresh.

  • Add source: describe what to watch, or press Ideas for twelve recipes, such as Competitor Radar, Customer Pain Miner, Content Idea Engine, Lead Trigger Feed, Morning Brief and Opportunity Finder. Signal turns a description into a plan of up to six sources; press Add plan to feed.
  • Choose a platform: sources are grouped as Social, Community, Market, Media, News, Research and Dev. A source that needs credentials shows Needs key.
  • Target: fields depend on the source, for example Subreddit and Search terms for Reddit, Channel handle and Include transcripts for YouTube, or Feed URL for RSS.
  • Every: from 1 min to Daily, or a custom number of seconds. Sources check at most once a minute.
  • Signal: a short set of questions that sets the filter. Add to Feed stays disabled until the filter is ready.
  • Advanced settings: where saved memories go, the maximum results, and whether the source starts now, starts paused, or stays a draft.

Each source in the list shows its status, target, how often it checks, its last run, and Signal's summary. Each has Edit settings, Clone, Test, Pause or Resume, and Delete. Sources an agent proposes show Approve and Reject.

Platform Credentials

Add the credentials a source needs: Reddit app ID and secret, an X token, a Telegram API ID, hash and phone login, a Discord bot token, a TikTok session, a YouTube key (optional), a GitHub token (optional), or an Instagram login. Secret fields are masked. Press Save Credentials. The same credentials power Nova's social research tools.

Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Substack, Hacker News and Product Hunt are added in Settings like any other source, but they have no chip on the Feed's source rail yet.

SourceWhat it needs
RSS, News, Web, PubMed, arXivNothing: a feed address, a topic or a query.
GitHub, YouTubeNothing; a GitHub token raises limits, and YouTube can include transcripts.
RedditA Reddit app's client ID and secret.
TelegramAn API ID, an API hash and a phone login (a code the first time).
DiscordA bot token; the bot must be invited to the server.
X (Twitter)An X API token. Without one, a best-effort public search is used.
Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, SubstackBest-effort discovery through public search, so a feed source needs no login. (The AI's Instagram research tool does need an account.)
Hacker News, Product HuntNothing.

Memory and workflows

  • Memory: the Memory chip is an approval queue. A bookmark suggests a post, and Save memory in its panel keeps it. New sources suggest first and save only when you approve.
  • The Social Intelligence workflow: a built-in workflow writes a digest of your feed about every three hours. When it finds something worth sending, it sends a short brief to you on WhatsApp, if WhatsApp is connected. Pause or resume it from its card on the Workflows tab.

Ask Nova

Nova can work the Social page for you. It can open a view, search and analyze the feed, plan source changes, and mark posts. It asks for your confirmation before it applies source changes or training.

Social in the side pane, next to a chat with Nova.
