App tour
A walk through every screen of SyntrofAI. The main screen, the sidebar, the top bar, the side pane and the Homepage briefing.
This page walks the app from left to right. Everything here is reachable from the main screen.
The main screen
The main screen has five parts:
- The left sidebar: your chats and the buttons that open every other area.
- The top bar: clock, connection status, notifications, the side pane toggles and the Projects menu.
- The chat: the conversation and the composer where you type. In an empty chat the composer sits in the middle under What do you want to be true a year from now, followed by your name (set in Settings → Agent → User Name). Six example goals sit under the box; click one to put it in the box, then edit it or send it. When a reply starts, the composer moves to the bottom.
- The right-edge rail: a faint column of shortcut icons that brightens when you hover it.
- The side pane: an optional panel beside the chat for the Live Desktop or an app such as Browser or Office.
Under the chat a status line reads Waiting for your message when idle and Thinking… when a turn starts, then shows the live step. Hover Context Window at its right end to see how full the conversation is. A chat opens on its latest exchange; Load Earlier Messages at the top steps back one exchange at a time.
The sidebar
The logo at the top returns to the main page, and the hamburger button collapses the sidebar to an icon rail. Drag its edge to change the width; the collapsed or expanded state is remembered.
The buttons sit in three groups that you can fold:
| Group | Button | What it opens |
|---|---|---|
| Session | New | A new empty chat. If a team is selected, it also starts a team run. |
| Session | Export | A printable transcript of the open chat, to save as PDF. |
| Session | History | A read-only view of the conversation as the assistant sees it, compressed over time. |
| System | Homepage | The briefing screen described below. |
| System | Settings | Settings. |
| System | Projects | The Projects manager. |
| Intelligence | Memory | The Memory dashboard. |
| Intelligence | Agency | Office, Agents, Teams, Workflows, Scheduler and Goals. |
| Intelligence | Code Lab | Coding Lab. |
| Intelligence | Skills | Skills. |
| Intelligence | Social Media | Social media. |
| Intelligence | Workspace | The Workspace. |
The chat list
Below the buttons, Find sessions searches chat titles, section names and agent names. Chats are grouped in sections: Pinned, Nova, WhatsApp, Custom Agents, Teams, Workflows, Goals, System Agents and Other. Each section shows a count and can be folded; Other starts folded.
- Chats are sorted newest first. Chats started by another chat are indented under it.
- Three animated dots mean a chat is generating right now.
- The assistant gives a chat a title after the first message and refreshes it every few messages. Untitled chats read Session #N.
- Each chat's Options menu has Pin or Unpin, Rename and Delete. Pinning moves the chat, and the chats under it, into Pinned.
To delete many chats at once, click the bin next to the search box. Tick the chats (Ctrl or Cmd click selects a range), or use Select All, then Delete (N) and confirm.
Your account
Click the account bar at the bottom of the sidebar to see your name, email, role, how you signed in, since when, and your account ID. Log out is at the bottom. The folded Preferences block holds eight switches:
| Switch | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-scroll | On | Follows new output as it arrives. |
| Night theme | On | The dark interface. |
| Voice output | Off | Reads answers aloud. |
| Narration mode | Off | Speaks short status updates while Nova works. |
| Display reasoning | On | Shows the assistant's reasoning steps. |
| Steps expanded by default | On | Opens each step of the work log. |
| Display data | Off | Shows extra data with steps. |
| Display system logs | Off | Shows system log lines. |
The top bar
From left to right:
- Clock and date.
- Status dot: filled green when connected, a red ring when the connection is lost.
- Bell: shows a count when something is unread. Click it for the Notifications inbox.
- Toggle Live Desktop (monitor icon): opens the cloud computer in the side pane.
- Toggle Widgets (four squares): opens the last app you used in the side pane, or Browser the first time.
- Projects: shows the active project's color dot and title. Pick a project to apply it to the open chat, or Turn Off. See Projects.
Notifications
Alerts come from the app, your agents, scheduled work, memory and social sources. Each new one pops up as a toast and plays a short sound unless it is marked silent. At most five toasts show at once; they disappear on their own, except toasts with buttons, such as an approval request, which stay until you answer or dismiss them.
The inbox groups alerts into Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days and Older, with filters All, Unread, Priority, Memory, Social, Success, Warnings, Errors and Info. Details expands an alert. Mark Read marks everything read and Quiet also clears the toasts. The inbox keeps the latest 500 alerts in this browser.
The right-edge rail
A faint column of icons on the right edge, brighter when you hover it. You can drag it. From top to bottom:
- Workspace
- Memory
- Social Media
- Wallpaper: choose Static or Gradient and set the opacity.
- Music Controller: a mini player with shuffle, previous, play, next and like.
- Coding Lab
- File Browser
- Settings
The side pane
The side pane shows one thing at a time beside the chat: the Live Desktop, or an app. Drag its left edge to resize it; the width is remembered. In app mode a row of chips along the bottom switches between apps:
| App | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Browser | A real web browser that Nova can also drive while you watch. |
| Office | Create and open documents, spreadsheets, slides and PDFs. |
| 3D Lab | Write and run 3D scenes. |
| IPTV Player | Play live TV channels and playlists. |
| GeoSpy | Maps, satellite, Street View and a 3D globe. |
| CCTV Station | A wall of public live camera streams. |
| AI Studio | Generate and edit images, and generate video. |
| Coding Lab | The code editor with its AI developer. |
| Terminal | A command line on your instance. |
| Music Player | Search and play music. |
| Memory | Browse and manage memories. |
| Agency | Agents, teams, workflows and tasks. |
| Social | Your social feed. |
| Synapse | Notes, docs and pages. |
Ask Nova to "open the browser" or "open office" and it switches the pane itself. The pane closes while you chat with a team. See Side-pane apps.
The main areas
Agency
One window with six tabs: Office, Agents, Teams, Workflows, Scheduler and Goals. Open it from Agency in the sidebar.
Memory
Everything the assistant remembers, in four views: folders, databases, journal and intelligence. See Memory.
Skills
Procedure packs that teach Nova a specialized job, with tabs to import and install more. See Skills.
Social media
Posts collected from the sources you pick, ranked by what deserves your attention. See Social media.
Coding Lab
A full-screen code editor with a terminal and an AI developer beside it. See Coding Lab.
Projects and Files
Projects are folders with their own instructions that you switch on per chat. Files browses, previews, uploads and downloads your files.
Workspace

Settings
Models, memory, voice, keys and sign-ins, connections and backups. See Settings.
The Homepage briefing
Homepage in the sidebar (and the start-up screen when you have no chats yet) shows SyntrofAI Homepage, Your intelligence briefing, with a Go to chat button.
- A status row shows when it was last updated, with a refresh button.
- Seven tiles show live counts and open their area: Social media, Notifications, Agents, Teams, Workflows, Goals and Tasks.
- Today priority reads Nothing urgent right now when nothing needs you.
- Main news shows lead stories and cards, with Reveal more and Open Social Media.
- Social pulse shows the top-ranked items from your social sources, with Open feed. It needs connected sources.
- Recent memories lists the latest ten in the active memory space, with See all memories.
- Recent activity shows up to five recent events.
Opening any chat hides the Homepage.
On a phone
The app works at phone width. The sidebar becomes a drawer that slides in. The composer becomes a compact field with send, the microphone, a model button and a Tools sheet holding Attach, RAG, Deep, Team, Work Mode, Expand, Compress and Focus. The right-edge rail moves to the bottom of the screen.
When the app updates
When a newer version of the interface is deployed, a notice titled Update ready says it will load when the current work is safe. The page reloads by itself only when no reply is running, nothing is queued and the message box is empty, so you never lose a draft.
